Welcome to the official website for the Oxfordshire Garden Village. Here you can follow our journey from establishing our founding principles through to detailed master planning work, at all times influenced and guided by the local community.
Following extensive consultation and technical analysis, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland has now lodged an outline planning application for the Oxfordshire Garden Village to the north of Eynsham in West Oxfordshire.
WODC has now validated our outline planning application with a planning reference number – 20/01734/OUT. The link will direct you to WODC’s planning portal where you can read the entire submission documentation and also provide your comments.
We have also added the full suite of OPA documents here on this website with accompanying descriptions to ensure they are readily available and easy to locate.
WODC has formally submitted the Area Action Plan (AAP) to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination for “Salt Cross” the name chosen for Oxfordshire Garden Village. The full suite of documents can be found here https://www.westoxon.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning-policy/salt-cross-garden-village/salt-cross-area-action-plan-examination/
Grosvenor’s core purpose is to deliver lasting commercial and social benefit. In order to do this, we need to act with integrity, build trust and work to earn the respect of our partners and local communities.
Our approach is driven by the idea of mutual success between ourselves, communities and the environment. This is guided by our Community Charter and commitment to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2030.
To help us achieve our purpose we work with a team of experts who share our values and our passion for creating places that help people thrive, designed through meaningful community engagement.
We are one part of a global, privately-owned family business that’s been creating and pioneering the creation and adaption of places for over 300 years. That means we act patiently, think long-term, and give equal weight to the social, environmental and commercial impact of everything we do.
Our Strategic Land business has been active in Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire for over two decades, delivering award winning schemes including Trumpington Meadows and Barton Park, which leave a lasting positive legacy for communities and landowners alike.
Given the ongoing response to COVID-19, it will not be possible to hold physical public events for the foreseeable future. However Grosvenor is keen to ensure the local community is able to continue feeding back in to the plans and are looking at options for holding virtual public events. More details of this will be made available in the future, in the meantime we hope everyone remains safe and well during these unprecedented times.
Grosvenor has worked to respond quickly to the COVID-19 outbreak and lend practical support to communities in which we are active. For example, we have offered support to South Oxfordshire Food & Education Academy (SOFEA) for them to continue the great work they already do by supplying high quality food to organisations feeding vulnerable or disadvantaged people across the Oxfordshire area. Grosvenor are also supporting Barton Community Association so they can continue to stock their community food larder at the Barton Neighbourhood Centre.
